RNRC application for a family couldn’t be filed in time in Assam in 2015.
One of the family members siblings have their names in the NRC along with the siblings family members as accepted in NRC.
What options does this family have now, who couldn’t apply for NRC, to apply fresh since they couldn’t apply during 2015. The said family members have passports and voter IDs and have land documents of their ancestors owning land since way before 1971 cutoff date and one member of the family comes from state govt notified indigenous group of people of Assam.
Would their passports be cancelled or them being detained or declared as D voters as their name is not on the NRC? What legal options does this family have for applying for NRC and having their name added.
