January 15, 2025 at 11:59 amMy ex-girlfriend and I used to work together on research projects back when we were in college in India. At one point during some registration process, she got access to a copy of my digital signature through an email from my side.Things quickly went sideways, and I had to break up with her and block her from all media platforms.
Since I wasn’t able to contact her in any way, I recently reached out to a relative of hers living in the US. I politely told this relative to ask her to destroy all copies of my E signature and other documents, as this would end everything once and for all.
This relative misinterpreted my statements and started taking things out of context. She talked like she had lost touch with reality and was completely unhinged.
She(the relative) began violently threatening me and accusing me of things I haven’t done and have no relation to. Here I learnt that she’s a PhD student at the University of Sydney in Australia. Despite having my messages conveyed through her relative she did not destroy my signature.
I live overseas and couldn’t reach out to any lawyer in India for consultation. I kindly request you to advise me on what can be done for this so that my digital document, which is in the wild, can’t be used elsewhere for any malicious purposes.

January 15, 2025 at 2:40 pmIf you don’t live in India, then what happens to your Indian signatures which can only be used in India, is kind of moot. No?-

OP
January 15, 2025 at 2:46 pmIt’s my signature and it’s used on all my important documents including my passport (which I use it every I travel) don’t see why you are calling it moot in the first place?Secondly, as far as your argument is concerned she can easily forward that document around to people including the ones who live in India and which can cause problems in itself.

January 15, 2025 at 2:50 pmYeah, but do you plan on coming back to India? Most people don’t want to come back and figure out a way to build a life outside.
