        Hello,

In light of recent cases like Atul Subhash’s, I am curious to know about mechanisms to protect personal assets from creditors, marital disputes, succession disputes, or any such liabilities.

        Hereโ€™s my current situation:

        1. I am unmarried and have no debt apart from monthly credit card bills.
        2. I am salaried, without any inheritance at the moment.
        3. My assets are movable (cash, bank accounts, FDs, EPF, PPF, bonds, and stocks) and held solely in my name.

        My Questions:

        1. Drafting a Will:

        1. I plan to draft a will to specify how my assets should be handled after my passing. For example, Iโ€™d like to donate a portion to certain entities and distribute the rest among family members.
        2. How can I ensure my will is respected and adhered to?
        3. What steps can I take to protect my will from future disputes or claims by family members, legal heirs, or anyone else?
        4. Are there any ways to safeguard it from challenges under laws like the Indian Inheritance Act or the Hindu Succession Act?

        2. Protecting Assets During My Lifetime:

        1. How can I protect my assets from potential creditors, marital disputes (including claims for alimony or division of assets), or other liabilities like bankruptcy, government seizure, property disputes, etc.?
        2. Are there mechanisms to safeguard against claims under the Indian Marriage Act, Hindu Marriage Act, Section 498A IPC, or similar laws?
        3. Are there any financial instruments or methods to minimize such risks?

        Additional Notes:

        1. My query is meant to seek general advice, not just for my specific case. With more instances of legal misuse and fraud coming to light, I believe this discussion could benefit many others.
        2. Please refrain from comments like โ€œYou donโ€™t have enough wealth to worry about this.โ€ Everyoneโ€™s assets, no matter how small, are valuable to them.
        3. My intent is not to evade legitimate taxes or commit fraud. I only seek to protect myself from legal misuse or fraudulent claims.
        4. I am particularly interested in affordable and accessible solutions that are practical for middle-class individuals, as the wealthy already have numerous options.

Iโ€™d greatly appreciate any suggestions, resources, or experiences you can share. Thanks for your help!
