        Landlord stated, whatsapp message is good enough proof and EB bill is good to go for gas connection.
        Not just this, but many landlord mentioned the same stating ITR.
        I have met the landlord though and previous tenant stated the same.
        How to verify the landlord and is this safe?

              People go without formalities that’s not an issue, but these are basic documents, i.e., rental receipts (which are to be duly signed by either landlord or appointed agent), rental agreements, and even bank details and acknowledgements are to be provided that all form an important part of the transaction.ย 

              If you have entered into a tenancy through an agent, ask the same from him. A copy of the rental receipt or rental agreement may be asked for, that must not be disputed in any manner.

              It is a pity thing, but provisions are stated under the law.

                  Sounds fishy, why is he denying rental agreement, that’s a basic requisite for renting.

                  Probably he is renting out govt quarters or something that’s not his.
