UAre budget friendly Lawyers mostly scammers?
I spent almost 5lakh on and ed-tech company for learning(Now we all know how scummy they are after Byju’s fall)
Found extremely poor teaching skill. which can be found under $5 on Udemy, and all the certs were just fluff.
after 2 classes I asked them for a refund.They didn’t listen, just automated mails, at last one guy from that ed-tech said do whatever you can, we won’t give you the money back..(Which triggered my ego)
I didn’t say anything to parents(It would had been better) thinking they will find my inability to spend money which will make me feel low.
Secretly I arranged a lawyer from online, who resides 30km away from me.
He took money around 15K, and gave me nothing in return no docs either.when I call he keeps saying it was holiday season, court was closed, I am on vacation, you almost won.
that’s all, and from 1 and half year he doesn’t pick any call.A few days ago I called him from different number, he received, after some small talk I threatened him to beat if I ever see him in the town.
and he got afraid seeing my disparity over the call.
Now he is telling me to send all the documents I sent to him.
does it mean he didn’t even file the case?
I didn’t call him back or gave any docs. I don’t have any energy left to gather all the docs again.I don’t want to win the case or anything, gone is gone.

just want to beat the lawyer or at least slap in front of everyone calling as a scammer.
If he sue me, I will show evidence of payment and how he scammed me,
Worth a try?Because I believe they are the one who needs to be helpful for helpless people, but from my personal experience and some other observation from relatives, I found Layers to be WhiteCollar scammer and #1 money extorter

PIn short, no, not worth a try. You can’t assault someone even if it’s proved they did scam you. Get your head in place, you’re not calm enough to make a decision right now. The lawyer will put you in jail easily if you take a step like this. Even the threat you gave was not right.
Share everything with your parents now and get advice from a different lawyer.
