January 12, 2025 at 3:58 amI had a mutual divorce (underway, 1st motion done, 2nd motion will be done soon). I wanted to understand if I can get married in the 1 month cool off period that is there after the decree is passed. None of the parties will have any issues as it was really a painful marriage full of lies. Do I really need to wait till the cool off period gets over? And what is they do not get to know about it? Need some perspective. Thank you -

January 12, 2025 at 8:13 pmLegally speaking he cannot get married for about 90 days after divorce. 90 maybe not accurate- but there is a certain number of days. You can read the law or ask a lawyer.NAL

January 13, 2025 at 9:19 amFor a Mutual Consent Divorce, no need to wait as there is no appeal allowed if it is settled amicably. But make sure your settlement agreement doesn’t have such clause where it says parties would marry after _____ months/ years. Read the document carefully before signing it.For further clarification contact us [https://g.co/kgs/Bos5wTt](https://g.co/kgs/Bos5wTt)

January 14, 2025 at 10:55 amThere is no cooling off period after the divorce decree, however i hope you are not confusing the motion that is filed before the decree is passed, cause cooling off period lies after filing for divorce and before decree is passed. Once the decree is passed you can marry anytime it is legal, you are no longer a married man.
