How to prove jewellery in our bank locker is a wedding gift without any documents ?

Police took seized our bank locker keys and there was jewellery in that locker because there’s a Corruption case goingagainst my father from 2014. So it was gifted to my mom during her wedding by her father. Due to family problems my mother cut contacts with her father as he was abusive otherwise we would have a written affidavit by her father that it was a wedding gift.

Now we don’t have any proofs that we have this jewellery as a gift to my mother during her wedding, no bill, no receipt etc

So how to prove our jewellery wasn’t bought using black money?

Is Gold more than 1kg?

Legally a family with 1 daughter allowed upto 1.1KG gold without receipt.

Refer CBDT circular on how much gold can be kept.

Gold within this limit will not be seized even at the time of search at the assessee’s premises. No proof is required for possession

Depending on number and gender of people in your immediate family/household.

* Per Married woman – 500gms
* Per Unmarried woman- 250gms
* Per Married/unmarried Male – 100g
