        Context:

After 4 years of seapration I got an SMS from mumbai courts along the following lines:

*mumfamily Case with Filing No Cri. App. E/XXX/XXXX and CNR MHFCXXXXXXXXXXXX Party A Vs Party B registered as Cri. App. E/XX/XXXX on DD/MM/YYYY. eCourts-MAHADC.*

*mumfamily Cri. App. E/XXXXXXXXX/XXXX Party A vsParty B, Allocated to Court: JudgeX on DD-MM-YYYY. eCourts-MAHADC*

I checked on ecourts mobile application and the next (first) hearing date in the month of June so I guess I have a month or so to prepare myself.

I realize the immediate next step should be to look for a good lawyer and I will do that but it might take a few days or weeks to get one. In the mean while, as part of educating self I am reaching out to this forum.

I have a few questions and would appreciate any lawyer/s here to help me with the answers.

Q1: Since it mentions Cri. Appeal, will there also be an FIR?
Q2. Is FIR even necessary to file a Criminal Appeal in family court?
Q3: Is it possible for me to get the copy of the complaint before I lawyer up? If so, how?
Q4: Should I prepare for an anticipatory bail?
Q5: I live 300kms away from Mumbai so would you suggest getting a lawyer from my hometown or from mumbai?
Q6: How do the first few hearing usually go in such cases? I know it’s specific to case but still. I want to make sure that I am mentally prepared to defend against any psychological or emotional traps.
Q7: What packages do lawyers usually quote for these case? (Again, I know this is case specific I am looking for some ball park)
