I am planning to start something related to books as a startup. Do i need to get permissions from authors or publishers if i review their book? If so, what the legal process?

Also, i am talking about the books which are still not in public domain.

No. You don’t need permission to review books. Sites like Goodreads have plenty of book reviews. You can review any media and content you consume.

Section 52 of copyright law 1957

It provides for certain exemptions from copyright infringement. Some of the exemptions include: Fair Use: The use of copyrighted material for purposes such as criticism, comment, news reporting, teaching, scholarship, or research is considered fair use and may not be considered infringement
