College demands second semester fee when it just begun

Ill be honest here, i requested for a cancellation only once the second semester began. I had problems coming up and im returning to my home state. Ill explain everything in detail. The first semester ended on dec 25th and the payment for the second sem is due on the 20th of jan. I applied for the cancellation AFTER the 25th and now the college says they will not give me any document without the payment of the second installment that is remaining. I am not in a position to easily give away that sum of money, neither have i attended a single class this semester that i owe them that money.

But yes, i also understand the legal conditions that bind this. But is there ANYTHING i can do so the college de enrols me and gives me my documents? I do not want to put this burden on my parents please help me. (I am in an autonomous university btw)
