May 6, 2026 at 1:03 pmI left a company on 30th April; having joined it on 23rd January 2026. During my exit interview, the HR said the April salary would be clubbed as the FnF settlement and would be payable by the first week of June.I didn’t know about 17(2) then, that companies are liable to pay this within 2 days of my exit. I have sent a strong mail today morning to the HR to expedite the payment, but no response yet.
I have their contact numbers as well; but just wanted to know if this is a standard practice and I should just wait it out or should I spend my time and energy going legal. I don’t have a job right now and would rather focus on applications, but this thought keeps haunting me all the time.
Please advise.

May 6, 2026 at 4:58 pmthis kind of thing creates a lot of anxiety especially when you are already between jobs because even if the amount eventually comes the uncertainty keeps sitting in your head the part that usually matters here is what exactly was communicated during exit and whether they clearly tied salary to fnf in writing because later companies sometimes treat verbal discussions very differently also delays around fnf are unfortunately pretty common in some places even when employees are expecting normal payroll timing have they given you any official exit mail or fnf timeline document or was the june timeline only mentioned verbally during the interview-

May 6, 2026 at 5:47 pmIt’s documented. But I’m contesting 2 things, one – why is the last month’s salary tied to fnf & second, why would it take 45 days for them to settle when the new law states 2 days
