UHey I am 21F, I have just graduated from college and have got a good paying job but my family isnt letting me take it up because they want me to work with my dad. I cant work with him he is extremely controlling and emotionally manipulative. He won’t let me talk to who i want, wear i want or even go wherever i want to and have to always come back as soon as 8. I cannot even sleep alone, and have to sleep with him.
I have decided to change my number and mobile phone and just runaway and take up that job, I have money saved so that wont be an issue. I will also give a voluntary statement before to the police.
Is there anything else i need to take care of in order to not get tracked down by my family?

U‘Conservative’ is a bit broad. There are many conservative people with strong values. ‘Controlling’ is a bit more accurate. But he does fall into the category.
I am radically progressive and I know people who are very progressive and also very controlling at the same time.
Everyone is so damn controlling to a certain degree. Too many people are control freaks, judgemental and forget that human experiences are so unique and personal. Let people be!!!!
I am so glad that you came out of that cage. Text your neighbour/friends you are safe and dont want to be contacted by your parents. Open an email account may be so that you can connect with them if needed if things are desperate.
