May 5, 2026 at 6:44 pmI’m based in the UK but paid ₹1999 to an Instagram-based service provider in India through UPI.Details:
– Recipient name shown: Ankita Borah
– UPI ID: angkitaborah33@okaxis
– Bank linked appeared to be
– Payment was made successfully
After receiving payment:
– communication stopped
– I was blocked
– I can no longer contact them
I have:
– payment proof
– transaction reference number
– screenshots of chats
– proof that I was blocked
I’ve already reported it to and contacted my bank.
My question:
Given this is a relatively small amount, is there any realistic legal route left in India, or should I treat this as a loss and move on?
Also, can banks take action against the recipient if multiple complaints are made? I am worried that account is scamming multiple people.
