May 5, 2026 at 9:24 amHi I don’t know if this is the right forum! but need some advice and suggestion. i have a home loan from a popular private sector bank (read HechDeeEfffShiii)now this bank was merged a couple of years back with its home loan and property division and I was promised the pre-payment process would be simplified like SBI (WHERE you get a bank account into which you can keep paying your pre-payment emi amount in small lots)
My popular bank doesn’t have a simple system for pre-payment, requiring me to email a request for which a one time net banking link is emailed. if by any chance there is a problem, the link is deactivated.
one going to the branch with a cheque, they claim, they will deposit the cheque but change the regular email date to 5th of every month starting from the next month.
Question: is it legal for the bank to change this date? mine is later in the month because of delayed salary cycle. if the payment date is brought up to the first week it creates issue for payment as my payment might bounce for lack of funds.
someone please help me with this or guide me as to where I can find a resolution for this!
Thanks.
