May 4, 2026 at 3:46 pmHi everyone, I need some legal perspective on a refund dispute with Allen Career Institute .**The Timeline:**
* **March 25, 2026:** Paid full fees for OpenPro Batch XII.
* **March 25β27:** Made multiple calls to the center because I wasn’t added to the batch announcement group/WhatsApp. No response/action.
* **March 28:** Visited the office in person. They finally added me and gave me the Fee Challan (which contains the refund rules) for the first time. They told me to start classes from March 31.
* **March 31 β April 3:** Attended classes but didn’t find the teaching suitable.
* **April 6:** Contacted them for a refund.
* **The Issue:** They are insisting on an **βΉ80,000 deduction**, claiming itβs been 15 days since “batch commencement.”**My Arguments:**
1. **Institutional Delay:** I was physically/digitally unable to attend from the start date because they failed to process my admission until March 28.
2. **Delayed Disclosure:** The refund policy was only handed to me on March 28. I wasnβt aware of the “15-day” clock starting earlier because the terms were withheld until then.
3. **Deficiency in Service:** Their portal for refunds is strictly automated with no way to file a grievance or explain these dates; it only asks for bank details.**Current Status:**
* I have filed a grievance with the **National Consumer Helpline (NCH)**.
* The Allen portal status currently shows **”NOC Pending.”**
* They have ignored all my formal emails to their grievance and nodal officers.**My Questions:**
1. Has anyone successfully contested Allen’s “Batch Commencement” date when the delay was from their side?
2. If NCH mediation fails, is the **E-Daakhil (Consumer Court)** process effective for a student representing themselves?
3. Since the refund rules weren’t provided until March 28, does the “contract” technically only start from that date?Any advice on how to deal with their legal/nodal team would be greatly appreciated. (I have used llm to rephrase the paragraph, i apologise for it)
