May 4, 2026 at 8:19 amI need legal advice regarding my resignation from a school in India. I resigned on April 29th due to a medical emergency (miscarriage) and am currently on **absolute bed rest**.
**The Situation:**
โข **Medical Status:** I provided medical reports and explained I am physically incapacitated.
โข **HR Response:** HR is ghosting my emails and told me via phone that I might “owe” them two days of pay since my last working day was April 27th.
โข **Handover:** My school laptop and charger are already in the classroom, and I am dropping my ID card at the gate today.
โข **New Job:** I start at a new school on **June 22nd** and need my Relieving Letter and Experience Certificate.
**Legal Questions:**
1. Can they legally withhold my documents over a 2-day salary dispute or notice period shortfall caused by a medical emergency?
2. Can my husband legally act as my representative to finalize my Full & Final (F&F) while I am on bed rest?
3. Does their refusal to communicate via email during a health crisis constitute harassment?
I want to focus on my recovery and ensure I have my papers before June 22nd. Any advice on Indian labor laws would be helpful.
