Ordered a laptop on Amazon using **my account, my contact details, and my credit card** (for a friend). Open-box delivery was done.

        After delivery:

        * Model number **doesn’t match listing**
        * Warranty shows **~5 months left** → likely used

Raised return → **denied citing “product mismatch”** (which is exactly the issue).

I have invoice, chats, warranty proof, and delivery evidence, Call recordings

        **Questions:**

        1. Should **I file the consumer case** (since order + payment + account are mine), or my friend (who received it)?
        2. Does accepting OTP during open-box weaken my case?
        3. Is warranty mismatch strong proof of a used product?

        Any advice appreciated.
