UHello Everyone, I brought O general 5 star AC almost 3 years back and its 4th year running. I brought it in off period so i didn’t used it much, after 8 months i realised that the AC is not working, so i reported a compliant to O general and they send a technician and he asked me to pay for 1000 for gas refill, i didn’t agree with him, because i didn’t used at all, hardly less than 30 days since i bought, i suspect there is a faulty installation. so i fought with them raised a compliant and finally they filled the gas with no charges, with in 4 months from then which is 14th month AC stopped working, again, i didnt used it at all, just did a random check and realised its not working i submitted multiple requests to them, but O general guys didnt responded. i send couple of followup mails, but there is no reply, good thing is i did send mails since my first issue so i have all the proves. they are not responded and i didn’t have enregy left to fight with them so i let it go, fast forward, after 2 years. i bought 4 years free service from tata, they do free gas fill up and service. i feedup with o general so i called tata zip care and asked them to fill the gas, they came and filled the gas but AC is not working, they said there could be a leakage. good to fix it first. when i asked them estimates they said 10k to 20k dependings on whats the issue.
I reached out to O general and the sad part is we cannot call to there customer care from our regular unlimited packages, we need to recharge. i recharged for about 150 rupess and spoke with them. they said someone from there team will call to discuss about it. they did called me but i was unable to pickup the call. in parllel i send mails to chase on my 2 years old issue. every time its they send ticket to service center and they say you pay money we fix it. else there is no way. problem is there is no one even to understand the problem and solve it. i realised that there is no point in putting my family at risk of heat so i paid from my own pocket and did the repair by o general. i spoke with regional manger and he said he will ensure that i was not charged for service only material cost i have to pay, but it comes up to 7.5k. i appreciate there support in removing the serivce charges but the problem is its O general team who didn’t do a through investigation at first time when i raised an issue.
My stance: I am legally eligible for free repair given that i reported the incident with in 1 year warenty period, during this fight i spoke with service center guys and they said they saw nut was loose when they did initiate checkup so they tightinned it so they say issue is fixed. what ever i reported second time is post 1 year so it didn’t comes under warenty. but my stance here is i highly doubt they did any fix at first because they said clearly its a gas issue and they simply filled the gas, even if its true ideally they should check the machine and see if there are any leakgaes. but they didn’t opened the machine. so my point is its a pure negligence from O general service team for not doing through investigation to fix the issue.
i know it sounds weird but the truth is i didn’t use AC. to substance i have following proves
1) I clearly dropped an email to o general second time 14th month stating GAS is low, because i asked Tata guys to come and check as they do free service, they checked the gas and said its low. i can do free fill up from tata but i didn’t, becasue there is a issue to be fixed. i didn’t used my free gas fill over last 2 years.
2) I can produce all my electricity bills over last 2 to 3 years, max bill could be 1100.
3) I didn’t need AC because i stayed alone for last 2 years, now i need it because my family moved to hyd.Now, i already raised complaint in consume compliant form, but no response from o general so far.
I think i have a fair and strong points to escilate it and i am bit confident that i can win the case if i file one, please let me know your thoughts, feel free to call out if you think i am wrong anywhere. and how can i legally proceed now?
