My university has asked us to pay the full fees for the upcoming semester in advance, even though the current semester hasn’t concluded yet.
Along with this, they’ve also started applying late fees . and the fee amount itself is quite substantial. I know that they had to serve a 15 days notice period which they did but still is it ethical !?
Trying to understand the situation better:
Is it standard for universities to collect fees for the next semester before the current one ends?
Can late fees be applied in such cases, even before the new semester begins?
If anyone has faced something similar, what was the outcome?
Looking for factual clarity on how this is typically handled.
