The individual who was married to his spouse for a duration of approximately four months. In April, the spouse left the matrimonial home without assigning any reason. Despite repeated attempts at communication, no response was received. He further suggested marriage counseling; however, the same was refused by the other party.

After a lapse of six months, he issued a formal communication, to which the spouse responded by proposing a mutual divorce. Thereafter, the spouse filed multiple complaints alleging harassment against him. These allegations were contradictory in nature, and upon examination of the evidence and documentation provided by him, the authorities found the claims to be unsubstantiated.

Recently, the spouse has submitted a claim seeking reimbursement of expenses allegedly incurred during the subsistence of the marriage, including costs of the wedding ceremony, honeymoon, jewelry (including a mangalsutra and a chain claimed as her personal property), furniture, and other miscellaneous expenses, amounting in total between the range (20,00,000 to 30,00,000)

I am seeking legal advice regarding the possible courses of action available in this matter, as the amount being claimed appears to be excessive and unreasonable under the circumstances.
