manufactured by Whirlpool Corporation which is currently under warranty as guaranteed under β2 year warrantyβ by the company.On 26 April the said chimney produced a blasting sound and suddenly caught fire from within the unit during normal usage. The flames originated internally and thereafter spread to the surrounding kitchen area. The incident also led to burning of connected components, producing dense black smoke due to combustion of internal plastic parts. As a result, it caused significant damage to my kitchen, including the ceiling, wall tiles, and cabinets.
I have registered a complaint with the company; however, the issue has not been satisfactorily resolved, as no adequate action has been taken and my grievance has not been duly addressed.
Due to this incident, I have suffered financial loss on account of property damage as well as considerable mental distress, anxiety, and inconvenience, given the sudden and dangerous fire hazard within my residence.I even registered a complaint with the national consumer helpline and the status has been showing in process for a couple of days, and since I am not able to use my kitchen, I have started the renovation. I called the national helpline again today and they said that they have highlighted the issue, but I just want to know what all documents I need to keep with me and What exactly I can claim in damages, and how can I go ahead with this issue.
