April 30, 2026 at 7:48 pmHi there,I kindly require your support with my current situation. I am an international student who has done Cambridge A levels and am pursing my undergraduate degree at BITS Pilani Digital. As part of the requirements, they need the UGC Equivalence Certificate. They asked for it when I registered and gave me 30 days to submit, which was back in January. I had applied for it from UGC but I didn’t get the certificate from them given the back and forth of information.
More recently towards my end of trimester exams (4 months after admission), BITS reached out to me and asked for the certificate, I told them my situation but they weren’t ready to listen and blocked me from writing the exams. Now they have halted me and “deregistered” me from the programme given I couldn’t share the certificate with them. Is this something legally allowed ? How can they just come last minute ask for a certificate and just halt my career progression.
Additionally if there any support if any of you have gone through this, either with BITS or UGC to obtain the certificate, any inputs would be much appreciated in order for me to proceed with my studies.
Hoping to hear from you guys, thanks!
