April 30, 2026 at 12:31 pmHello,I have engaged a lawyer to fight on my behalf against Jio because they have been stealing money from me. Unless I keep adding money into the “credit limit” section of the JioCares app my mobile service would get cut. This is over and above paying my bills. Over a few days the money gets depleted from “credit limit” and my service gets cut and I have to add more money.
I finally left Jio because they could not fix this issue, and they also refused to raise a complaint. Even after clearing my bills and getting an email confirmation from Jio that I have terminated my service with them, they are still claiming I have unpaid bills. My new service provider Vodafone says under law they will have to cut my service if Jio claims I have unpaid bills with them.
The funny part is that Jio actually has Rs. 2000+ in unbilled amount (money they owe me back but are refusing to refund – their refund portal doesn’t even work) and my monthly bill was approx Rs. 500. So even if they billed me an extra month it cannot be over 500. The bill makes no sense to me, I have passed it on to my lawyer to check.
Funniest part of the whole story? When I go to the site and click “Pay Bill” it says invalid action. So even if I wanted to pay I can’t. If this wasn’t so funny I would cry in frustration – Jio has really lost the plot.
I have over a month’s worth of recorded calls, emails, screenshots and messages. I have sent everything to my lawyer who is going through it at the moment and will revert on Monday.
I wanted to know if anyone has any experience taking legal action against Jio, and what the outcome has been.
Can we file a class action lawsuit in India? Is this doable? I think one against Jio would get a lot of traction. We may not win, but at least they will get bad press.
