* Paid deposit in Aug 2023
* 11-month agreement expired, continued month-to-month
* No written notice of rent hike/guest penalties
* Landlord now deducting:
* painting charges despite continued occupancy by flatmate
* retroactive rent increase
* guest/partner penalty never agreed to
* Asking: “Are these deductions legal under Indian tenancy law, and what are my options to recover my deposit?”
