April 28, 2026 at 6:19 pmHi everyone,I’m from Indore (M.P.) and I’m facing a confusing situation regarding a loan recovery.
I had an outstanding amount related to an ICICI Bank credit account (around ₹5.2 lakh). The matter seems to have gone into Tehsildar recovery (RRC process).
Here’s what doesn’t make sense to me:
The loan/default is with ICICI Bank
But the Tehsildar issued an order to freeze my HDFC Bank account
I also received a notice mentioning a hearing date (17 April)
However, my account was already frozen before that date
My concerns:
How can a loan from one bank (ICICI) lead to another bank account (HDFC) being frozen?
Is it legally allowed to freeze accounts before the hearing date mentioned in the notice?
Shouldn’t proper notice/service be completed before taking such action?
What options do I have to challenge this or request relief?
I’m not denying the liability, but the process feels very abrupt and confusing.
If anyone has experience with RRC / Tehsildar recovery cases in India, please share your insights.
Thanks in advance 🙏
