I am a teacher in Delhi with 7 years of experience. I am resigning from my current school effective April 30th to join another institution.
My contract has a 1-month notice period. Due to an urgent personal matter, I cannot serve the notice. I have offered to forfeit my April salary (Notice Buyout) in lieu of notice, but the management is threatening to withhold my **Experience Letter** and **Relieving Letter.**
1. Legally, can they refuse my documents if I am paying/forfeiting salary for the notice period?
2. If they refuse to give it on my last day, what is my best course of action?
3. Will my salary slips and appointment letter be enough for my next employer if this school gets petty?
Iโve completed all my work handovers. Any advice is appreciated.
