April 27, 2026 at 6:26 am**For why I’m panicking:** I have graduate studies in 3 months, and I’m deciding between multiple scholarship offers in different countries worth a few crores INR. If they delay my exit docs, F&F, or mess up my record just because one person’s ego got hurt, it can affect visa, scholarship decisions, and my mental peace.I joined this org only few months back because it was started by world-famous researchers, but later found most had already left. I still stayed hoping to learn, but got stuck with bad peers and one senior who seemed upset because I was not bending over backwards to please him.
Things got ugly fast. He shouted at me on calls, threatened to “show me my place,” and it became so toxic I resigned before even completing 3 months. Later, in a call with HR, I found out he had already been giving negative feedback about me behind my back.
Even then I clearly said I will complete handover properly and serve full notice period, because I do not want incomplete notice period reflecting badly in my documents/profile. I finished handover, shared code, docs, KT, updates, and even did extra changes manager asked for.
Still after 15 days of notice, HR asked if I want to reduce my last date because this person was saying I’m not doing duties properly during notice period, otherwise exit documents may get delayed (threatened). Final review call also got messed up, manager said he was sick and that senior declined the call.
I’ve already followed up with HR, finance, manager, asset handover team, even asked where to courier laptop, but no proper response. What is the best thing I should do in these last few days so I have proof I completed everything properly and this does not get dragged?
Also, is it okay to save/print my work emails as PDF for record, or copy my personal email in these threads, or is that risky?
I am aware the last options will be legal notice, labor commissioner/court and civil courts but am worried of slow Indian legal processes (grad school issue). I am sending email requests and will probably even send one to the CEO and other senior admin if this drags past my last day.
**TL;DR:** Toxic senior threatened me, bad-mouthed me to HR, and now it feels like they may delay my exit even after I completed proper handover and full notice. I have grad school and scholarship decisions in 3 months, so I need realistic advice fast.
