April 26, 2026 at 5:54 amI having a us visa , passport and residency in Kuwait booked a flight from Mysore to Dammam via Hyderabad with indigo with the plan to get visa on arrival in Saudi and go to Kuwait via roadAt the Mysore airport i received both boarding passes, waited 12 hours in Hyderabad, got through immigration and was about to board the plane. The indigo staff at the gate said a us visa was no longer valid to get visa on arrival and offloaded me. Once offloading was complete , the supervisor said i have the option to go to Riyadh or Jeddah instead where the us visa visa-on-arrival option was still available.
I accepted Riyadh and the flight is the next day, so i stay over in Hyderabad after paying indigo 5000 rs “moving charges” for a 20k cheaper flight
The next day at the check-in another staff says no a us visa is not enough and i need to book an onward journey or they wont allow me again. In haste i had to book a onward ticket.
On arriving in Riyadh, immigration tells me that there is no need for an onward ticket and that i can stay in Saudi with the visa on arrival (using a us visa) for 3 months if i like and the facility is available in Dammam as well
I have lodged a complaint in airsewa and emailed indigo as well. They just sent an apology email
Do i have any recourse? Im sitting in Riyadh in a hotel i paid for for 4 days till my flight for absolutely no reason other than their misinformation and incompetence
