This happened at Cloudnine Hospital, Sarjapur, Bangalore.

My wife had a C-section on 28 March 2026. Our baby girl was born healthy (3+ kg). Everything initially seemed fine.

But within a few hours, things changed.

        Timeline:

        28 March (Saturday evening)

My wife started having severe abdominal pain and excessive bleeding. We informed the nursing staff multiple times. The response each time was strong painkillers.

        Night (28–29 March)

        Pain continued through the night.

        29 March – around 4 AM

I requested the duty doctor to come check her because something clearly felt wrong. No doctor came.

        29 March – around 9 AM

Duty doctor finally came. No meaningful action or investigation was done.

        29 March (entire day)

        Her condition worsened. She had:

        – blackout-like episodes

        – dizziness

        – weakness

        – continued abdominal pain and bleeding

I kept informing the staff throughout the day. No serious investigation was done. No escalation. No urgency. We were left on our own.

        30 March (Monday morning)

During the doctor’s routine round, while speaking with her, my wife suddenly lost consciousness in front of the doctor.

Only after that did things move urgently.

Scan showed ~2 liters of internal bleeding.

She was rushed for emergency laparotomy and needed blood transfusion.

        What’s deeply concerning:

        I understand complications can happen.

        What I cannot understand:

        – Symptoms were reported repeatedly for 30+ hours

        – No investigation was done

        – Action was taken only after collapse

Also, different doctors gave different explanations:

        – one said tissue was cut

        – another said a bleeder opened

        – consulting doctor said bleeding near uterus

I was also told blood flow to the uterus was “blocked” to control bleeding, which raises concerns about future implications.

        Discharge summary discrepancy (critical):

The discharge summary initially stated that symptoms were reported on 30 March morning.

This completely ignores everything we reported on:

        – 28 March evening

        – 29 March entire day

After repeatedly raising this with the hospital and speaking to the manager multiple times, they revised the summary.

In the updated version, they mentioned “mild dizziness” on 29 March.

        That is not what happened.

        We reported:

        – excessive bleeding

        – blackout episodes

        – weakness

        – severe abdominal pain

Calling that “mild dizziness” does not reflect reality.

And logically, how does someone go from “mild dizziness” to ~2 liters ( Almost half of the human body) of internal bleeding within hours?

I have both versions of the discharge summary.

        Additional concerns:

        – Environment felt extremely micro-managed, with no clear escalation path

        – No visible centralized mechanism to handle complications

        – No accountability even after everything

        Another detail:

We had a baby girl, but the hospital identification tag marked her as male.

Separately, the same ankle area where the tag was placed later showed visible skin injury/abrasion.

I’m not making a direct allegation about the cause, but incorrect identification combined with skin damage at the same site raises concerns about handling and basic care standards.

        Why C-section was chosen (clarification):

My wife’s water broke around 3:30 AM, and we reached the hospital around 4:15–4:30 AM. The pregnancy had been healthy overall.

In our last consultation before admission, the doctor had mentioned that the baby’s head circumference was on the higher side, and that a scan would be done at admission to assess whether normal delivery was feasible.Because of that, our intention after admission was to first speak to the consulting doctor and take an informed decision.

However, by the time we were admitted, labor had already started. The duty doctor then gave us two options:

        – take an epidural and wait until the consulting doctor arrived later in the morning to assess and decide on normal delivery

        – or proceed with a C-section immediately, in which case the doctor would come right away

We were effectively asked to choose between waiting for several hours while labor was progressing, or proceeding immediately. Given the earlier concern about head circumference and the fact that labor had already started, we did not want to delay and risk stressing the baby only to potentially end up in a C-section later anyway.

Based on the options provided at that time, we chose to go ahead with the C-section.

To be clear, the issue is not the C-section.

        Why I’m posting:

This experience has been emotionally and financially exhausting they didn’t take any accountability.

If everything goes smoothly, maybe the experience feels fine. But when complications happen, the system felt unprepared and unresponsive.

Let’s be honest, uncomplicated deliveries have been happening at home for generations. People choose hospitals for when things go wrong.

If a hospital is built around selling maternity packages but lacks a strong, responsive system for complications, that is a serious gap.

That is exactly where we felt completely helpless.

        Looking for perspective:

Would really appreciate input from doctors or others:

        1. Is this kind of delay acceptable?

        2. Should these symptoms have triggered earlier investigation?

        3. Is it normal for discharge summaries to be altered like this?

There are many more issues I haven’t even listed here. I don’t want would be the outcome from here but my intention is to update the other parents/parents to be to choose the hospital wisely.

If you have questions, ask. I’ll answer based on exactly what we experienced. For authenticity of the post i have added bill and supporting images.
