Accident with drunk biker, paid settlement already, now he’s demanding more money and threatening jail — what should I do?

Hi everyone, I need some legal advice regarding an accident that happened recently.

On 22nd April around 10:48 PM, I was driving home with my father. While taking a left turn (with indicator already on), a biker (who was drunk) hit the left side of my car. He had a female passenger with him, and both fell and got some injuries. My speed was around 30–40 km/h.

Immediately after the accident:

* I helped them get medical treatment
* Took them to the hospital (reached around 20 mins)
* Their medical report mentions alcohol consumption
* I paid around ₹6,000 for their treatment (have payment proof and their medical reports as well)

During this time, they:

* Started blaming me
* Tried threatening in different ways to extort money like they’ll take the matter to social media, bring his friends and will file an FIR against me to put me in jail
* Asked for Rs. 20,000 settlement (I’ve video recording of this)
* Made emotional claims (kids, unable to work, etc.)

Eventually, out of goodwill, my father paid ₹15,000, and:

* They signed a written settlement agreement in the hospital
* It clearly states they won’t pursue legal action
* I have all the documents, payment proofs, and video recordings

Next day:

* Police called me (someone in the public had reported the accident)
* We went to the station
* Both parties (the guy’s older brother and us) agreed to give written statements later to avoid future issues
* Police instructed us to meet on Sunday to give our written statements.
* I also found out the woman was not even his wife (His older brother clarified this. So, they clearly lied to us).

But now (24th April):

* The same biker is calling again and demanding additional Rs.17,000. He mentioned he had spent all the money we gave in just 1 day
* Threatening to send me to jail (have audio recording of this)

Important points:

* No FIR has been filed uptil now, the case is currently in pending state from Police side (They’re waiting for a statement from both the parties)
* I have videos, payment proofs, medical report, and signed settlement
* He was clearly drunk and at fault (documented in medical report)
* He was riding without a helmet
* My car was also damaged

**My questions:**

1. Is there anything that can go against me legally?
2. What steps should I take to protect myself?
3. Can I take action against him for harassment/extortion?
4. What is the best way to deal with situations like this?
5. Is there any possibility of getting my money back?
6. During this entire incident, I was told multiple times that in accidents involving a car and a bike, the car is always held at fault regardless of circumstances. Is this legally accurate in India?
