My friend (24F), her sister (16F), and their mother fled their home in gurgaon two days ago to escape years of severe physical and emotional abuse from their father.

Today, the father tracked them down. My friend called the police. When the officers arrived, they dismissed the situation as a “family matter,” literally laughed at them, and left, their mom was too scared to do anything then. Now, the father is attempting to forcibly take them back to the house where they are in immediate physical danger. we’ve heard the courts are closed for the weekend so the lawyer cant do anything as of now. What can steps can be taken right now to ensure safety?

The Mother: She earns 1 Lakh/month but the father has financial control. They have the means to be independent but are being physically stopped.

Police Response: The local station has failed to act and is effectively siding with the abuser.
