May 7, 2026 at 11:21 amAs per my understanding , the governor invites the highest seats achieved party, which is TVK 108 seats. And is appointed as CM , given 1 month time to prove the majority of 118 seats in coalition of alliances..So why is the governor not accepting Vijay as CM now ? He should be sworn in as CM and given a month’s time, right ?

May 7, 2026 at 11:47 amwrong sub!however,
In India, the Governor does **not automatically have to invite only the single largest party**. The Governorβs main duty is to identify **who is most likely to command majority support in the Assembly**.
So if:
* TVK has **108 seats**
* Majority mark is **118**
* Another alliance/group already shows support of **118+ MLAs** through letters/support lists, then the Governor can legally invite that coalition instead of first swearing in Vijay -
