May 8, 2026 at 2:59 amI bought a Realme washing machine on 18 October 2022. Within around 6 months, the machine developed problems, but at that time I was living in another state so I could not immediately claim warranty service.
Later, I called a local technician at my own expense, and he said the motor was damaged. The motor is supposedly covered under a 5-year warranty, but now Realme is asking me to pay charges instead of replacing it under warranty.
I first emailed them on 6 January this year and since then they have been delaying the matter for almost 5 months. I also filed a complaint through the consumer helpline, but the complaint was closed after they falsely claimed that I was not answering calls. I have call logs, recordings, emails, complaint history, warranty card, invoice, etc.
At this point I feel mentally harassed and exhausted because of the constant delay and false statements.
My questions:
1. Is this a strong enough case for consumer court?
2. Can I file it myself through e-Daakhil or do I need a lawyer?
3. Since the motor has a separate 5-year warranty, does my delayed claim weaken my case badly?
4. Is compensation for harassment/time waste realistically possible in such cases?
5. Will I need to physically go to court for the affidavit in a consumer case?
Would appreciate advice from anyone who has dealt with similar warranty disputes.
