UA lawyer in madhya pradesh showed land for purchase. That land was under conflict which he did not mention and took Rs10L in advance. When we found out about the land conflict, he said it is nothing and he can produce some certificate stating there is no conflict. But then he said it is not possible to get the certificate so we should just trust him that there is no problem. When we denied, he said okay then you can take this other land instead. We were reluctant but agreed. But he kept on bringing some or the other problem and took 1 full year but still did not proceed to registration nor any agreement. He sent drafts of registration which had incorrect figures that we never agreed to. We finally got fed up and said that please return our money. He said okay. But he keeps saying next week, next month every week and is not returning money. What are our options. How do we get our money back, whom to contact.

Uthe worrying part here is not just the delay but the repeated shifting stories around both properties because once someone keeps changing explanations and draft figures over a whole year it naturally starts damaging trust completely. also the fact that no proper registration or final agreement happened despite taking 10 lakhs upfront makes the situation feel much more serious than a normal delayed land deal. good thing is he apparently acknowledged returning the money instead of outright denying liability because that can matter later if you have messages or recordings of it. was the 10 lakh payment done through bank transfer or cash and do you have any written receipt agreement or whatsapp chats clearly linking the payment to this land transaction
