My partner and I are trying to get registered in Goa. He stays in Goa, but was born in Karnataka. We tried applying with his old birth certificate, but it got rejected and they asked us to upload a ‘fresh birth certificate’. When we enquired, we realised it will take a long time so we decided to apply again with a school leaving certificate (we confirmed at the registrar office if it was a valid proof of birth and they said yes). Which was again rejected and they again asked us to produce a fresh birth certificate.
My partner enquired at the municipality he was born in, they gave us a long timeline since births older than 2014 are still being updated in the system online. He doesn’t have a passport either.Can someone suggest what we can do about it? We’ve been trying to do this for a long time and I’m exhausted.
