AHi Everyone, Can someone suggest a good pro bono lawyer for my medical negligence or medical malpractice in Noida/Delhi or any advice on what I should do and how. I’m currently not in a condition to pay, and I’m not working anywhere due to my condition. I’m a single child of my single parent, who barely earns less than ₹10K, which isn’t even enough for rent and groceries. that’s why I’m unable to afford legal fees upfront,. Any help would be great.
ISSUE IN SHORT:- I was facing the issue of excess mucus production for many years, which was causing me breathing issues because mucus was getting filled inside whole nose, which is why the breathing was getting blocked.
In 11 Feb 2024 Consulted with ENT & Plastic Surgeon, Both doctor consulted me only on call and told me that we’ll consult physically once before surgery and they assured me that it’ll be fixed once surgery gets done and they were going to do Functional Rhinoplasty means Functional with Cosmetics Reasons and they told me that everything will be covered in your Insurance.
AND THE PHYSICAL CONSULTATION NEVER HAPPENED. THEY TOLD ME THAT WE’LL GET IT DONE BEFORE SURGERY, THEN THEY SAID IT’LL BE DONE ON THE DAY OF SURGERY BEFORE GOING OPERATION Theatre. THEN THE DAY OF SURGERY, ONLY THE PLASTIC SURGEON CAME AND CHECKED MY NOSE IN WITHIN 10 SECONDS AND ASKED ME TO COME TO OT ( I trusted the doctor, so I went to OT without questioning much but I tried to explain as much I could even in OT but it seems they ignored everything)
They did surgery including:- Functional Septorhinoplasty, Turbinoplasty and Conchaplasty (Going to be done my ENT Surgeon)
Cosmetic:- Nasal Osteotomy, Alarplasty (Alar Reduction), Tip Plasty. (Going to be done by Plastic Surgeon)
SURGERY HAPPENED ON 16TH FEBRUARY 2024
After surgery, my problem got even worse the nose shape got worse with scars, and the mucus issue still has not been fixed. But now breathing difficultly increased. (Previously, breathing issues were happening because of mucus that was blocking my nose, but now even without mucus, I cannot fully inhale or exhale air from my right and left nose.)I talked to the doctor, and they scolded me by saying you’re overthinking and everything is fine and told my mom to show me to therapist, and told me to just wait for 6-8 months and everything will be fine. I waited, and now it’s been more than 1 year and 2 month, still I’m still having issues. Now what should I do? What can be done? Any help will be grateful.
COMPLICATIONS BEFORE AND AFTER SURGERY IN SHORT:-
BEFORE SURGERY:- Excess Mucus Production, which causes a blocked nose and breathing issues until I blow out all the mucus.
AFTER SURGERY:-
1. Still, Excess Mucus Production has not been resolved.
2. I am having more breathing issues in the right nose, even when there is no mucus, and the right nose gets fully blocked while sleeping on the left side. Also, I am having a snoring problem due to this.
3. The middle of forehead and right side nose bone are broken and still not healed even after 1 year. AND the Left side bone is manipulated badly, which caused the deviated/crooked nose now
4. Runny nose ( Water drops from the nose whenever I go outside from my room)
5. I feel pain sometimes inside the nose and inside the tip.
6. I also feel pain in my nasal bones even after 1 year
7. Scars and redness around the alar and Columella, and incision marks are very visible in front of the nostril
8. Bad Alar Crease and Uneven Nostril Shape.
9. Cold Burning Dry throat sensation all the time since I got the surgery
10. Unable to blow my nose due to bad nose shape, I have to use cotton buds to clean mucus
11. My nose shape has been deviatedly crooked and bad(NOT ANY OF THE ABOVE SINGLE ISSUES WAS HAPPENING BEFORE SURGERY)
The main issue is that THEY NEVER INFORMED ME ABOUT WHAT complications CAN HAPPEN AFTER SURGERY, OR WHAT AND HOW THEY ARE GOING TO DO THE SURGERY.
–MY ONLY FAULT IS I TRUSTED BOTH ENT SPECIALIST AND PLASTIC SURGEON BASED ON GOOGLE REVIEWS AND THEIR SO-CALLED FILTERED SOCIAL MEDIA PICTURES WHERE THEY DON’T SHOW THEIR BAD SURGERIES AND HEXA HEALTH)PS: They asked me to sign a form after just coming after OT when I was not in my full control and told me that it’s compulsory.
I WENT INTO DEPRESSION FOR THE WHOLE 1 YEAR AFTER THE SURGERY AND I NEVER WENT OUTSIDE OF MY ROOM FOR THE WHOLE YEAR, NEITHER I MET OR TALKED TO ANY OF MY FRIENDS.
I LOST MY JOB DUE TO THIS BECAUSE I WAS NOT IN A CONDITION TO GO TO THE OFFICE, I LOST MY SOCIAL LIFE AND ALL FRIENDS AND FACED VERY MUCH MENTAL STRESS WHICH I CAN’T EVEN EXPLAIN FULLY. I even got suicidal, and I got absent in my 3rd-year of graduation exam, due to which I have to redo my graduation again from the start for the whole 3 years.
Also, they never showed me any before-and-after pictures of my surgery because they knew they had done something wrong. Additionally, I consulted in AIIMS where the doctor said, your septum wasn’t that much deviated that you would needed surgery, but they didn’t write anything in 2nd opinion. They said we can’t give any opinion about your previous surgery, I can only give you treatment based on your complaint and the issues you’re facing. They gave me some spray and syrup to fix my breathing and burning throat issue, but it also did not work as I’ve been using it for 1 month. But this made me think that if spray etc could be an option for my mucus issue then why my previous doctors told me directly then I need surgery.
