April 25, 2025 at 8:01 amSo I’m from Rajasthan and today a JCB decided to show up in front of our house sent by Nagar nigam. Apparently there was a sewage clogging problem in my locality and a complaint was raised to fix the matter. These people have been searching the chamber in entire colony and landed right in front of our house.
Now they had already dug up the road at 2 spots in front and side of our house and NOW after searching using the metal detector, they find out that chamber is right in front of our house, where the ramp meets the road.
We objected to further digging as this not only blocks access to my residence (we park our cark via that ramp), but also causes severe inconvenience, and further degrade the already compromised condition of the road. We asked them for assurance first that the dug area will be fixed but they refused stating “its not their problem”
Now they are threatening us that they’ll lodge a conplaint since we are hindering official work.
They made some calls and left, but we feel they’ll return soon.
Legally, is it okay to just dug the area without having he provisions to fix it?
Are we in the wrong here from not allowing them to dig right at the point where our private property ends?
I’d be grateful for your views on this. Thanks -

Yes they can dig and wander off without repairing.
You’ll most likely have to repair at own cost.
