Y**Body:** Hello Reddit community,
I am back to share the continuation of my family’s ordeal, hoping to find support and justice. The land in question is **private property**, legally owned by us. Yet, the **mafia and our neighbors** are relentlessly forcing us to give up a **10-foot-wide road** on it, despite having no legal claim. Shockingly, even the **ward members** are involved in this illegal demand, further emboldening the perpetrators.
On **April 18, 2025**, we faced a **brutal attack** in front of the entire society. The mob, led by SK Miraj, SK Hasmat, SK Lallan, and others, physically assaulted my family with the **intent to murder**. Despite the public nature of the attack and the presence of witnesses, **the police did not intervene**, as they were allegedly instructed by the mafia to stay away.
This is not just about land—it’s about the **lawlessness and corruption** that has left us vulnerable. We have been attacked multiple times, harassed by neighbors, and denied justice by authorities who are supposed to protect us.
We are living in constant fear, unable to access our own property, and the system seems to be working against us. I am pleading for your help to amplify our voice. Please share this post, offer advice, or connect us with someone who can intervene.
Adding to our suffering, even our neighbors have joined in, constantly teasing and harassing us, making our lives unbearable. We possess video evidence of the attacks, yet justice remains out of reach.
We have tried contacting media channels, administration, and even influential figures, but no one is listening.

PThe same thing happened with my family recently in North Bengal, one influential person was encroaching upon our premises and when resisted the TMC goons came as a mob and heckled us giving death threats. We called the police but the police seemed to favour them instead of arresting them or calling out the mob, the police told both party to file an FIR.
Even the local club had joined hands and everyone was against us and threatened to close all the gates, exits and lock up in our homes.
We contacted the ward commissioner but even after she told us that illegal construction has to be removed nothing happened.
We could not keep up the fight for long and had to make a settlement.WB is a place where rule of law is not the norm but whoever has money and muscle power makes the law. The government is blind to the sufferings of common people and they are running a syndicate to extort money.
Only courts can help you and you will have to contact a good lawyer. For hostile neighbours nothing can be done, the wb police is a mere spectator and extortionist. No doubt so many crimes take place but they refuse to file a complaint. They only take complaints where one or both the parties can be extorted.
