I was driving my uncle’s car and got 10,000rs challan for outdated PUC.
He is asking me to pay it now because i was driving it at the moment what do i do.

The challan was not due to any traffic violation by the driver but because the owner didn’t bother to renew the PUC on time.

still, you borrowed his car .. if he was in it at time, he would deal with it. Since he wasnt, he’s not wrong to ask for challan to be paid

Legally, the owner is liable. Your uncle can try going to Lok Adalat or whatever it is called where you live and tell the judge a sob story. He may or may not give you a break. If the PUC expired only a few days ago your chances are better.

Chal jhattu 😂😂 lok adalat lgti h, google pe check krta rahiyo next lok adalat kb lagegi, jb notification aaye ki lok adalat lgne wali h tb apne challan ka appointment le liyo apni pass ki court mein online hi easily mil jata h jb appointment date aayegi tb, us appointment ka print out leke chla jaiyo bs time se, judge teri gadi number se bulayega aur challan amount bta dega 100-500 tk bs wahi pr pay krke reciept leke gand matkata hua aa jaiyo aur receipt chacha k muh pe maar diyo

Bhai sahi batao judge itna gandu hai kya ki 10k ka challan 500 mai kar dega( kar de toh accha hai ) but kuch aur natak bhi toh hoga, itna aasan toh nhi hoga jitna tum bata rahe ho.

Abeee bhai 20 se jyda challan clear krwa chuka hu apne wo 2000 rs per challan wale the jinke mujhe 100rs per challan dene pade

Same shit happened with me while i was crossing Delhi. I forgot about the fine and then i got a message like a year later to settle it for Rs.2000/-.

When you got the car the PUC had already expired. So it’s your uncle’s headache.
Is the car in your name? The challan would be addressed to the owner. Just don’t pay it.

See you have to pay the challan because the penalty also includes imprisonment for 3 months. However clearly since the logic fails on your family tell your uncle that you will pay him back in instalments.
