NThere are two fake cases going on my father’s name filed by his former employer in the Rajkot court, Gujarat. We live in West Bengal now.
My father left Rajkot on 2019 and we came on west Bengal. But his employer filed the case on 2021. Now, my father was arrested in october 2022, but we bailed him out.
We hired a lawyer who was taking care of the case and all. So we didn’t went to the court as our lawyer said she was taking care of it and we were sending her fees timely.
Then life hit us, on January 2025, our situation escalated really badly financially and we were not able to pay our lawyer so for three months, 3 dates has been passed and we haven’t showed up neither our lawyer. She told us that warrant may have been issued.
To travel to Rajkot on every court date cost us 20k each and we are already in debt.
We can’t afford a lawyer right now. Many people suggested to get a legal aid lawyer and for that we have to go the court physically which we cannot afford now.
We have our next court date on 24 April and 25 April respectively, and we most likely a warrant has been issued. How to manage all this?
Is there any ways , I can request the court to provide us some time citing my situation via email or letter without visiting physically?
