May 3, 2025 at 6:27 pmThis post is going to be long, hence please bear with me.Last year in May 2024, I lent my maternal uncle (my mama) around 35 lacs for business. He said that he will give me partnership in the business. Therefore, I withdrew around 15 lacs from credit cards and took 3 personal loans worth INR 20 lacs to help him in his business.
Now the problem is, it’s been almost 1 year and I haven’t even received a single penny and the interest for my credit cards piled up and the total amount payable is around 24 lacs in my credit cards and also, the personal loan EMI’s are getting bounced.
I know it was very foolish of me to lend this much money.
My uncle’s behavior has also changed towards me significantly. He is very egoistic and arrogant now. Though he is earning money from some other source now, he is prioritizing other creditors but not me. He keeps saying that I’ll start giving you the money in a month or two after I confront him. He feels bad when I ask money from him and says that you do not understand my situation and tries to manipulate, gaslight me and makes me feel guilty as if I’m doing something wrong asking my own money.
I even left my job because of his commitments. This also got me depression severely.
Any suggestions or plan or action is welcomed, but please do share what to do in this situation as I’m in INR 45 lacs of debt in total and can’t pay anything as I’m not working as well.

May 3, 2025 at 7:36 pmInvesting money you donβt have into a venture is the dumbest shit one can do. What was your plan ? How were you going to pay back the credit cards? I mean no business would generate the whole investment back within a year or so-

May 4, 2025 at 12:08 amYou do not have to drink whole ocean to find out if it is salty. You can wait for 1 month or 6 months, you will not get your money back. Better you start taking action and start collecting proof of giving money to him. If you gave him cash then collect evidence and messgs and if you gave by bank then collect bank entry and make a proper file of that.Call the uncle and let him know everything, show him everything you had collected and tell him that if you cannot take care of 25% of payment you owe me right away then m going for the court case. In order to save you I cannot drown myself anymore.
If he cover it then its good and he had intention and if he make further excuse then go for legal channel without delay as more you wait the more you go away from money.
Also, as you said this guy have money. So the guy who have money and not paying will pay only after pressure and the one who do not have money then its doesn’t matter you pressure or beat him, you will not get it. He can take care of this as he have money .

May 4, 2025 at 4:52 amSir please acknowledge that you are in the worst debt trap possible. Get money from else where immediately and pay off cc completely then personal loan in that order. Not doing so will cause your debt to spiral. If this is huge amount takes you more than 7 years to pay off then better sell all assets immediately or bankruptcy filing -

May 4, 2025 at 6:23 amWhy the fk did you quit your job? And why did you even thought to max out your CCs to be a partner of a business without having any legal documentation ( even if you had documentation; still this would be a dumb move )Itβs so easy to scam if people are such gullible nowadays

May 6, 2025 at 10:37 amI will say go to police try to contact any lawyers and police in your friend circle tell them about this condition. I know about this feeling when u lend someone with trust and they don’t give u back but show arrogance . I recently gave my friend 2000 rupees and after a month he is not recieving my calls not replying to text. I know it is a very less money but still it breaks trust. I wiil never lend to anybody now.
