It is better to be jobless than to be stuck in a mentally deteriorating place that would put you in debt and make you jobless if you decide to leave.

                            That’s misrepresentation.

The company can extract work for a few months and encash your cheque. You will be on the hook.

                            Never agree to such terms.

                          NAL

I suggest you book an appointment with a lawyer and consult on the matter by sharing the agreement and getting a proper brief from him. It won’t cost you heaven and earth and it is worth the investment.

Bonds cannot be legally enforced in India as far as I’m aware but it all depends on the agreement and what constitutes the “bond” here.

I’d be extremely wary of giving them a cheque. Do not consider giving a cheque for an account which doesn’t have sufficient balance, the cheque will bounce and that’s an offence. Do not consider giving a cheque and then calling the bank and cancelling it because that amounts to a dishonoured cheque as well and they can still initiate legal proceedings against you. The bank will definitely levy penalties as well.

If you don’t have a reference then Google is your friend. There are several websites for legal services where you can consult a lawyer.

The top two options that showed up for me after a quick search are legalkart.com and onelegalindia.com.

How much is the salary? 1 lakh/salary = Break even. Anything after that is positive. Are you desperate enough to survive that many months? If so, go ahead. If not, do not go.

This might be stupid ,the company is gonna be worse , and I believe you are very young , is the pay okay ? In that case join ensure all and in 2 years leave , ,you know what you are getting into be prepared and learn as much . For folks suggesting lawyers and all other things about trying to sue please understand we are in India , if the company pays the same lawyer 100 ra more he will twist all against the op and that might destroy his life . Also understand u said you are without job for 8 months and not much financial means and I believe it’s driving you more insane

Just consider the advice , and choose what is best for you ,good luck

Bro it already looks a red flag and especially 1l cheque as security deposit looks very phishy. Basically you are paying to join a company and what if they close tomorrow. Also cheque is a legal tender so please avoid cancel and stuff later.
I’d suggest hustle on naukri.com and get referrals from linkedin. Easy route may lead you to issues
