A friend of mine is being blackmailed. Demands have not been made yet, but the person has been mentioning details about her husband, in-laws, parents, her whereabouts. We suspect that her calls are being tapped and recorded. He has recordings which can harm her image in the family and affect her married life. Help.

There have been a lot of similar cases police and legal system have not found a strong solution . What does affect her image and marriage means ? If I think what it is ,better to come clean to the victims and thereby not allowing the blackmailer to hold power on us , even if she try to meet his demands to bury it ,he will comeback for more.

I know. That’s what I have told her. I wish to know if anything could be done by filing a complaint of cyber crime. Also, is it possible for anyone to tap her calls?

install an paid anti virus if android.
Best and the easiest method is formatting.
“Man in the middle attack” is very difficult unless you have c@ps involved who are tapping the calls which will not be the case unless high profile is involved.

When we searched the number on true caller, ‘daroga ji’ popped up as the name. Could it be of any significance?

Police dont do nothing for this , unless huge money or life is involved , best is to come clean before it breaks bad just my 2 cents

Stop taking calls from numbers not in the contacts list. In the meantime, she can pray the creep will stop with threats and not actually carry out the threats. She also can consider confiding in her husband, depending on her relationship with him.

I don’t know if she has the courage to do that. The person started texting her father and husband after she blocked him.
