a NBW has been issued against me

“Complainant is called absent, petition filed and allowed. Issue NBW against A2 on payment of process as service held sufficient and A1 and A2 are called absent, call on 18-06-2025”

I have not received any summons…iam aware of the case through mutual friend to a complainant lawyer…. It is a false cheque bounce case using the cheque given as security for the purchase of goods to which I have complete transaction details and paid whatever I was billed for from the complainant…..the case was filed in 2022 but till now haven’t had a single hearing….

Is this nbw serious….what should I do now….will police arrest me and put in jail?

NAL but you definitely need to lawyer up and NBW is serious. If the case was filed in 2022 and you were aware, did you not do anything to get to the bottom of it and get it cleared? or were you just known about it now after the NBW was issued? If you have cleared the bills and have a bank transaction to show, get your lawyer to sort it out quickly.

No, it was filed as an act to black mail me , I used to take goods from them …once I dumped them and started my own manufacturing…we got into a fight over common client and then they started blackmailing me using old cheques which I gave them as security for future supply of goods ….they even called me for a compromise and asked me to pay 5 lacs to which I said I won’t….then they filed the case …. complainant is a lawyer himself ….I got to know about the case through a mutual lawyer friend and case number….so I used to check case status out of curiousity….but I never received summons till last 6 months….from past 6months Im not staying at my parents place….even now I got to know about nbw when I checked the status ….no one contacted me yet

Get a lawyer, as NBW on cheque bounce is criminal offence, not a civil matter and there is imprisonment upto 2 years. Get yourself a lawyer quickly and don’t wait for summons as they could say tried contacting you on an address you weren’t living, and why would you sign blank cheque is beyond me. Hope you are able to get this resolved

Since Non-bailable Warrant (NBW) has been issued against you & if that has been duly received by the concerned police station then yes police will take you into custody & produce you before the court concerned where you have to apply for bail.
