UIt’s not a silly matter as it sounds, it’s literally ruining many people’s peace as they are all involved. I came to know few years back one of my close relative making nasty stories ( not the regular bitching , gossiping) and spreading it to other relatives and it came to a point where all the relatives showing real hatred to me. It started when I was in school and it still goes on when I am in my 30s. So I caught her red handed with the help of one relative and she is denying it all. Is there any legal way I could handle this at-least to threaten her ?

RYou can file for defamation but is it really worth it? what will be the outcome of it and would that give you a peace with restoring reputation, Not really. It’s like since someone damaged your reputation and you challenge to defeat them in a 1000 meter race or basket ball game.
Biggest revenge is massive success. it’s also a blessing in disguise that you see the ones who believed her and looked down on you. remove such people from life, focus on improvements.
I’m telling this because I’ve been through this. Once you fly high, all those who were gossiping about you will chase you.

UI have done everything. I am in a better place trust me. But as a close relative she is in contact with my mother and still saying things like I am the one who ignored her because it’s all just a misunderstanding. She is trying so hard to point fingers at me after all she has done and with proofs she is denying. I just want her to accept her mistakes. That’s what I am trying to do.

RI’m still in the same bucket. But I was brutal here. I left it to my mom to trust me or her. Unfortunately my family has narcissist tendencies. I did not expect anything from anyone and just focused on my work and moved abroad having little to no ties.
Don’t expect anything from those people they will never accept and any of your attempt to do literally anything will backfire you. for them it’s always all your fault. -

UFrom what I’ve read of her it doesn’t seem likely that she is going to accept her mistakes. You’d have to force her to stop somehow. Also you said some of your relatives are showing hatred towards you? Are they really that stupid to believe all the rumours?
