March 31, 2025 at 3:59 pmI was going through a two way road. Where a woman was about to cross the road. She was looking at the other side and i thought she might see this way too but she didnt and got hit by my bike’s side body i.e i alrady passed her from front. She got hit on her legs and fell by her head. I stopped right away and the locals asked me to pay for her treatment although it was her mistake. At the small hospital doctor did her dressing and told to go to a bigger hospital for stiches. About 2-3 stiches. The family refused to go to the hospital i suggested. I paid the treatment of local hospital. I refused thier family for further treatment and got back home. They took my photo and bike numbers photo. I dont have a license and bike insurance. I am tensed what if they put a police case. I am not in a position to pay for hefty treatments. I am 20 and a student. -

March 31, 2025 at 4:08 pm> I dont have a license and bike insuranceNAL but I think this will automatically put the blame on you, doesn’t matter if the woman was at fault according to your account of the incident.

March 31, 2025 at 8:03 pmIt was solely your responsibility to avoid the pedestrian. You can’t just assume people will see you and act accordingly. You are the one in control of the vehicle, and that makes you responsible for preventing accidents. Also, driving with the mindset that others should adjust for you is reckless. That’s not how road safety works. You’re supposed to anticipate mistakes and drive cautiously.
**There is no place for “I assumed they would do that” while driving.** You must anticipate others’ mistakes, prepare for them, and always maintain a safety cushion.

March 31, 2025 at 7:37 pmLet this be a lesson to you. Hope not an expensive one.– assume that everyone on Indian roads is trying to run into you. Defensive driving is the only way.
– don’t ever drive a vehicle without license and insurance.
Chin up and face the consequences.

March 31, 2025 at 7:53 pmI don’t understand why people drive or ride without a valid license and at least third-party insurance. Imagine if someone gets killed by your vehicle. you could face criminal charges, and the financial burden might force you to sell your property just to settle claims. Also be informed that since you don’t have a license, your insurance will not cover anything, meaning you are personally liable for all damages. In India, third-party compensation for accidents can reach lakhs or even crores of rupees, depending on the severity of injuries or fatalities. If a victim’s family files a legal case, you will have no defense, and the court will likely rule against you.
Now, in your case, expect a call from the police soon. They will summon you, and in such a situation, never go alone. Take a lawyer with you—not because they can erase the offense, but they might be able to negotiate, advise you on legal options, and help with settlements. Without proper legal guidance, you could end up in a far worse situation.
Driving without a license isn’t just risky, it’s reckless. If you don’t care about your own future, at least think about the lives you could ruin by being irresponsible on the road.
Don’t even touch a vehicle with a stick until you get your license!

March 31, 2025 at 8:55 pmYou are at fault automatically for driving without license and insurance.Rest doesn’t matter. I firmly believe that irresponsible ppl who operate any vehicle need to be punished harshly.
Legally, you have no recourse. Pay them whatever they want in limits…

April 1, 2025 at 2:43 amSo you were driving without a license or insurance. And you hit a pedestrian whi required urgent hospital care and now you are trying to wiggle your way out. If you had been legally present in the road, you would have had the option to challenge the pedestrian in court that they might have been at fault as well. But since you were violating multiple laws, your situation is not favorable.Illegal and rash drivers on roads must be removed in order to save lives and make our roads safer. You knowingly committed multiple offenses. Your best option is to retain counsel to reason with the pedestrian and offer assistance. They may or may not offer to prosecute you. However, they retain full rights to take you to court. It is best that you take responsibility for your dangerous behavior and work to follow traffic laws.

April 1, 2025 at 9:20 amhow thats my fault. My only fault is not having a license and insurance.
Well, i was there with her and helped in the hospital proceedings and even paid for it…i was also ready to get her to hospital i can afford for the stitches and drop her home safely. family wanted a fancy hospital (fortis) which i can not afford. That is the reason i walk away from the scene..
