March 10, 2025 at 5:31 amI own a transportation business, and recently, one of my truck drivers was involved in an accident, which resulted in significant financial losses for me. Despite this, I covered all of his hospital bills and other related expenses. However, the police have seized the truck, and they are asking for the driver’s signature in order to release it.Now, the driver is demanding 3 lakhs from me in exchange for providing his signature, which feels very unfair, especially considering the financial strain I am already under due to the accident. Iβve helped him when he needed it, but now heβs being greedy.
Can you offer any advice on how to handle this situation or if there is any other way to resolve it? Iβm really looking for a way out of this difficult circumstance

March 10, 2025 at 5:49 amIf there is a police case then file application in court for release of vehicle. Owners can seek release of vehicle and driver has no right over it.You would want to explore your legal options against the driver for loss caused due to the accident

March 10, 2025 at 8:01 amThe above answer is the best course of action but as you know law isnβt cheap either good lawyers demand cash so thatβs another thing to think about but this is the best course of action given these circumstances
