UI visited my hometown yesterday and went to visit a old school friend who i lost contact after leaving my hometown . Turns out his sister married a muslim guy initially there was resistance from her parents but she eloped got married and converted , they have 4 kids now (she’s only 23 now).
My friend showed me video of 6 years ago when it all happened .His mother had seizures and they were so hard to watch looked as if she was losing and gaining consciousness .The horror on her younger brother face ,he didn’t even blink and was just staring at wall .The dread on their faces after realising what has happened was horrifying . I haven’t slept last night and still not able to sleep .
So i was just googling about how prevalent this is and read about hundreds of cases where a woman either gets forcefully converted or willing converted and gets killed or someone from her family gets killed for intervening.At some point my body just went cold after scrolling and stomach felt so cold and filled with dread .I can’t even imagine the pain the families must be going through .
I traced the cases most as I could but the accused usually got around 10-15 years and gets bail too .
Which made me think where are we heading as a society and hope we don’t reach a state where minorities get forcefully converted like they do in our neighbouring countries .
I just feel so helpless and insignificant looking at such injustice happening in my country .
Also in general crime against women has increased so much .7 month old gets rap*d ,1 yo gets rap*d and so many more .Just read that Allahabad judge says to victim to marry the accused when she reported for rap* .
Also there must be so much crime committed which doesn’t reach the media or is not reported or is never found about .Sometimes I hope may the world end and rid us all of this suffering because the police and court have such minimal punishment for such horrendous crimes .
Also how do you deal with such cases when you about read or see them . I am not able to think of anything else ,don’t feel hunger,sleep .This is the only thing going in my mind .

FLiterally every minute of the day a news pops up about women and girls being killed, raped or blackmailed. Why is a women and her lover consensually marrying giving you sleepless nights? Is there a significant age gap? Was she forcefully converted? Was she kidnapped and forced to marry? Doesn’t sound like it from your post

UMaybe your post lacks context.. because I can see that the girl has consensually married a man who her parents were not in favour of. Her age is a concern, but that also depend on what part of the country she is from, because it not uncommon.
Regarding the mother’s condition, years ago, a young relative (less than 25 years) decided to elope with her friend/colleague (same faith, different states). Her mother had such an amazing reaction to the shock – She was bed ridden, unable to talk and completely changed in appearance. From a ‘stylish socially forward lady’ she became a woman who was almost muted and socially resigned for years. While daughter is fine, had kids and living a life with her family. Many years later, they reconciled. So all that drama was for nothing.

EIt is not only limited to India, read about UK grooming gangs. You will more horrifying cases there. The politics of appeasement has spread all over the world. If you raise your voice, you’ll be labelled an i*lamphobic.
Just yesterday saw news where a 14 years old girl in UP was raped for 2 months straight and starved and whenever she asked for food, she was given red meat (b**f) and urine as water. The kind of vileness these scums have is insane. As if there’s no humanity left, but then you’d read their holy books and everything starts making sense.

PPeople will only post dreadful stories on the internet, you may not be seeing happy stories being posted as much as you will see the dreadful stuff. Sometimes the search algorithm also shows you like that only…don’t think too much about it if nothing is happening to you. Although if you want to help some women, you can do so through some NGO.

PI cannot comment on what it teaches or not but being psychologically aware is what many people lack when they are young and due to lack of knowledge of their own self beliefs, they tend to deviate towards materialism. Which in some cases lead to bad marriages, radicalisation, etc and all things you read online.
Change would start with education and leading people towards a better way of life…

If that were the truth and not fear mongering, you’d not be able to type it out. Given the global muslim population. You’d not be able to live in the peace you’re living now.People use religion to justify themselves. A good person can use the same religion to justify helping others and another can use the same to justify harming others.
This religion, like all others, does not make sense and people who wanna do dumbfuckery do justify it using the religious texts. That is no different from your prejudice either where you’re using the exmuslim statements, for muslims to identify the flaws in their religion, to justify your hatred against the general muslims who have no relation to any of the fiasco.

MI swear, algorithm and news always gives us bias.
I personally know many inter religious marriages where no conversion, no trauma. I am myself married to Muslim. Neither of us converted nor we follow any religion. We celeberate all festivals with respective families. Its not a big deal.
Main issue is grooming girls at young age by predators who are older than them. But this is seen across all religions and regions.

Is there a serious concern—like a huge age gap, coercion, or forced conversion? Because from what you’ve shared, it just sounds like two consenting adults making their own choice. There are far bigger issues to lose sleep over.

UPersonally, I stop reading news and start looking at other random stuff. And then my social media algorithms change and I am oblivious of the darkness of world. My sanity is restored and I can go about my life. Alternate ideas on ways of dealing with this are welcome..

AU haven’t been able to sleep because your classmate’s sister married a guy of another religion , and her mother is still upset about it 6 years later ?
Why are u making it a religious thing? Further, honour killings have happened even in the case of the intercaste marriages (Not to justify it or anything )
What legal advice are you seeking exactly?
Proper enforcement of laws by the police can help a lot. In our corrupt country, that’s only a dream.
