February 26, 2025 at 5:40 amThe sweatshop jobs masquerading as white collar jobs will be gone, the companies have invested trillions of dollars into it.The desired outcome of AI is to make as many jobs redundant which is done by laptop class people.
The Indian judges don’t face such threats, all they will ask is to produce previous salary slips and will order monthly cash payment to the spouse in case of seperation.
What are your back up plans? You will default on emi? Will your spouse sell gold to pay for the house? Will your spouse sell car to pay for medicines of your parents?

February 26, 2025 at 10:06 amI know people here are quite dismissive on this post, but I am so relieved to finally see a post acknowledging AI, and the possibility of the potential disruption it may cause in the country.I don’t know why AI hasn’t been brought to mainstream news already, other than for its ‘quirkiness’ and ‘novelty’. It is very much capable of replicating the kind of labor that is predominant in the Indian service sector, nicely referred as the ‘laptop class’ by OP (who are also likely to be the largest demographic of Reddit India).
We’re literally in the verge of achieving AGI, and soon after that ASI will come to fruition. Even if it displaces like 10-25% of the job market (a very conservative estimate), the fallout to it will be massive. Knowing how the likely future would pan out, and realizing there’s little anyone, let alone me, can do about it, makes me very worried and depressed.
To be clear, I’m all for the society getting rid of these essentially low value, artificially elevated and unfair jobs but only if truly beneficial social schemes are implemented like UBI. I know something like that sounds laughable in India, but I can’t come up with anything better that would reduce the impact of this impending disruption.
Hopefully, public consciousness starts taking note of this, and takes a more proactive approach for the coming times.

February 26, 2025 at 12:46 pmWhy do you think only other jobs are in trouble. Even judges are at risk since the most important part of being a judge is to not have personal opinion and bias which is inherently not present in an AI.Secondly even the lawyers can be replaced by AI since they will have material related to present the case already in their memory bank.
The only job which is not in trouble is that pf a politician since it involves making laws and forward thinking for society which is not easy for an AI to study right now. But who knows about the future.
Also how is this a legal question as it seems like an opinion question.
