March 11, 2025 at 7:15 pmI am posting this to share my experience with Air India’s refund process and to ask for advice on what else I can do to escalate it further.I had booked a round trip flight from Delhi to Jeddah for 4 passengers which I cancelled later and I was assured a refund with some deduction but two months have passed and there’s still no sign of the money.
Here’s what’s happened so far:
1. Customer support keeps saying the refund has been processed on Jan 31st but I haven’t received anything.
2. Checked with my bank multiple times and the bank confirmed that no refund has been credited from Air India.
3. Provided bank statements as proof as requested by Air India but no further updates.
4. I asked for a transaction ID or any proof of refund but they won’t provide it.
5. Filed a formal complaint and esclated to nodal officer via email and then the appellate authority but no response there as well.At this point, I just want my money back as it’s a big amount (2.6 lakhs INR) but it feels like I’m getting the runaround. Has anyone dealt with something similar with Air India or another airline? How did you get it resolved?
I’m considering escalating this further through consumer forums or legal channels if I don’t get a clear answer soon. Any advice on what steps to take next would be greatly appreciated!

March 11, 2025 at 9:07 pmIf you have already filed consumer complaint then don’t send legal notice now. It is generally sent before filing complaints so that the other side has a chance to settle the matter without escalation to the court.

March 14, 2025 at 7:32 pmSince you’ve already filed a consumer complaint, Air India will definitely respond, but expect them to drag it out as long as possible. They might delay hearings, give vague responses, or even try to settle for a lower amount.Best thing you can do now is stay on top of the case; check for updates regularly and push for hearings if they keep stalling. If they don’t refund in a reasonable time, you can also ask for extra compensation for the harassment caused by the delay.
If they offer a partial settlement, make sure you’re not shortchanged. If you want to speed things up or make a stronger case for damages, getting legal help could be worth considering.
